A Bolder, Better Rum And Coke – The Cocktail Of The Month

Many nights in college, the sweet nectar of rum and coke kept me company as I wrote endless words, filling pages with quandaries on Romantic Literature. The inspiration juice tasted best when sipped slowly through hours of research and typing. I even brought my friend (the rum and coke) into the library with me for late-night studies, not knowing, of course, that rules forbade it.

Recently, I invited my motivational liquid companion back into my regular artistic process, dressing him up a little to celebrate growing old together and the years of friendship we have shared.   

Tia Maria adds intense coffee flavor to the perfect blend of spiced rum and coke, allowing taste buds to delve into a luxurious liquid with a creamy finish. 

You have to try this.

The Ingredients:

The Process:

  1. In an old-fashioned glass, add several ice cubes, 1 1/2 oz. spiced rum, 1 oz. Tia Maria, and 4-6 oz. Coke.
  2. Stir ingredients.
  3. Cut lime into wedge shapes to garnish the edge of the glass or add a spritz into your drink.
  4. Enjoy!
